Calvary Family of Churches
Calvary Springfield is a member of The Calvary Family of Churches (CFC). CFC is a gospel-centered church network formed in 2015 that focuses on planting and revitalizing churches primarily in the Denver area and beyond. Operating under the mission to make Jesus "non-ignorable to the ends of the earth," the CFC consists of autonomous yet interdependent congregations that share a common name, vision, and core convictions while remaining self-sustaining and self-governing.
The movement began when Calvary Englewood recognized the significant resources required for church planting and saw an opportunity for greater kingdom impact through deep partnership and collaboration. Churches join the family through three pathways: planting new churches, replanting dying congregations that are willing to adopt a complete reworking of their ministry philosophy, or adoption by existing churches seeking partnership and support.
The organization provides comprehensive support through regional hubs, residencies, leadership cohorts, camps, and restorative retreats, ensuring that pastors and church leaders don't walk alone in ministry.
Southern Baptist Convention
Calvary Springfield is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). The SBC is a cooperative network of autonomous local churches working together to advance the Gospel locally, nationally, and globally. As the largest Protestant denomination in the United States, the Convention comprises approximately 47,000 cooperating churches with 12.7 million members.
Each Southern Baptist church maintains its independence and self-governance, but they unite through voluntary cooperation to support missions, church planting, theological education, and ministry initiatives that extend far beyond what individual congregations could accomplish alone. Through the Cooperative Program, established in 1925, churches pool their resources to support missionaries worldwide, train ministry leaders through six seminaries, and address ethical and religious liberty concerns.
The Convention's work is guided by The Baptist Faith and Message, a confession of faith that represents the biblical convictions shared among Southern Baptist churches.
